Need for Speed: V-Rally 2

V-Rally 2 deugt aan alle kanten. Collin McRae 2 en Gran Turismo 2 zullen een hele zware kluif hebben om dit niveau te evenaren.

Den som verkligen vill arbeta sig igenom en hel rallysäsong har med andra ord ett hårt jobb framför sig men vi kan lova att det är värt besväret.

V-Rally 2: Need For Speed is definitely a rally enthusiasts' game. If anybody is the least bit interested in racing, rally racing, or multi player games, should without a doubt pick up V-Rally 2 because it is by far the most in-depth and thorough rally racer on the market. Its simulation aspects may not be as 'ooh la la' as Colin McRae Rally's but they are quite close and that is probably the only area where Colin excels in, the physics. Over 25 cars, 80 something tracks, a Track Editor, and a Multi Player Mode via Multi Tap, V-Rally 2 is the best rally game to date.

The Dreamcast has turned into a nice console for driving games and a lot of good arcade racers have come out recently, but V-Rally tops them all. It’s packed with 16 cars, bonus cars, four-player support, and there is a track editor/generator. With over 80 excellent tracks in 12 countries, I didn’t see the need to create my own tracks, but this feature would add to the overall replay value of the game. If you like rally games, this one is the current king of the 128-bit world. While more of an arcade rally than a true simulation, I thought Test Drive V-Rally really succeeded in making this a fun experience.

Test Drive V-Rally is very to the point. It’s the gameplay that makes this title so good. Fast, barely in control racing on a huge variety of tracks and we have a winner here.

V-rally Championship Edition 2 se révèle être un bon concurrent dans sa spécialité. Grâce à sa maniabilité, à son réalisme de course et à ses nombreuses innovations, il arrive à faire oublier ses petits défauts et donc à devenir un bon jeu !

Un très bon titre, très réaliste et facile à prendre en main, mais qui n'en oublie pas pour autant d'être amusant. Une réussite indéniable et indispensable à toute ludothèque d'amateur de sports mécaniques.

Eden Studios, Infogrames, EA, and the Need for Speed team deserve quite a bit of credit for making such a full-on speedy racer here. Rally games have a lot of variables to deal with, including terrain types, vehicle model designs, roadside detail, and car handling and auto physics (including crash control), so to do all of that well and still be faster than all get-out is pretty stunning. Only hard-core sim fans will be let down by the game, but if it's a race you want, you'll find one here worth your time.

With several racing titles currently available, Test Drive V-Rally has established itself as the best racing rally game on the Dreamcast. V-Rally signifies the hope that the franchise can return to its pristine glory and continue to express excellence and most importantly a definitive package of entertainment. Even if you're only remotely fond of rally racing, V-Rally is quite a package. Buckle up your seat belt and hang on...Test Drive V-Rally is truly a game to be owned by all Dreamcast owners.

True, this is no GT2, but you have to take V-Rally 2 for what it is -- the best rally racing game available for the Playstation. Keep in mind that this is more of an arcade style of game, as opposed to a simulation, so this might be the perfect racing game for the less technically-inclined racing enthusiasts. I easily recommend it to all rally fans. Go ahead, just try it. I'll leave you eating my dust.

Rennen pur wird im zweiten Teil der V-Rallye-Reihe geboten. Verbesserte Grafik und verbessertes Fahrverhalten sind ganz klar angesagt. Verschiedene Spiel-Modi, wie Arkade, Single-Race oder Meisterschaft geben einem viel Zeit zum spielen. In einer Meisterschaft muss der Wagen, insofern er Schäden hat, repariert werden... dafür hat man aber nicht ewig Zeit. Sehr gelungen sind aber auch die Strecken... abwechslungsreich und jeder Untergrund ist merklich anders. Fazit: Für jeden Rallye-Fan sehr zu empfehlen.

V-Rally 2 truly has something for everyone. With an arcade mode for casual rally fans, a downright hard-core mode for the true rally fans, and everything in between, V-Rally 2 is the premiere PlayStation rally game. Loaded with exceptional features and play modes and great graphics and sound, V-Rally 2 is a complete rally racing package.

Een mooie en snelle racer, die helaas op een belangrijk punt wat gas terugneemt.

I grunden bjuder V-Rally 2: Expert Edition på körglädje och stor underhållning. Spelformerna; Time Trial, Arcade, Trophy och Championship, är genomtänkta och varierade. Grafiken är som sagt både snabb och snygg (speciellt de snötäckta nattbanorna är helt underbara) även om den är lite stel och multispelarvarianterna fungerar utmärkt. Så även in det i vissa stycken verkligen känns att detta är ett första generationens Dreamcastspel är det också ett mycket lyckat rallyspel som både är väl värt att köpa och bådar gott för framtiden.

Привыкшим требовать от игры максимально приближенную к реальности физическую модель, V-Rally 2 EE лучше в глаза не видеть. Не интересующимся ралли вообще — тоже. А вот тем, кто не прочь малой кровью освоить навыки езды по раллийным трассам, расслабиться и повоображать себя Колином МакРэем, игру приобрести стоит. Только не нужно ждать от нее слишком многого.

En résumé, un jeu qui se veut tout public et qui réussit bien. Mais alors trop de fautes dans le gameplay et une facilité qui déconcertera les accros à la vraie simulation.

V-Rally 2 ist zwar kein Renner, aber immerhin der Raser unter den Rallyespielen: Die Piste fliegt einem dermaßen schnell entgegen, dass das Steuern zum reinen Reaktionstest verkommt. Doch trotz der partiellen Stärken bei Fahrphysik und Grafik – wer soll’s kaufen, wenn im Händlerregal bessere Alternativen lauern?

Trotz hochauflösender Grafik kann das Spiel seine Wurzeln nicht verleugnen: Die Menüs sorgen für Verwirrung und das Fahrerlebnis tendiert in Richtung Action. Umfangreiche Strecken- und Fahrzeugauswahl sowie die unkomplizierte Steuerung machen V-Rally 2 dennoch zu einem interessanten Neuzugang für Ihren virtuellen Fuhrpark.

V-Rally's gameplay actually tends to be too forgiving, as cars recover from collisions and rolls almost immediately! In addition, the collision detection is so bad that when you swing around a turn, it's not uncommon for half of your car to disappear into the rocky mountainside - that's just sloppy programming. On the whole, Test Drive V-Rally is just an average racer, but its tight controls and nifty split-screen modes make it worth a look.

Weniger ist eben nur ganz selten mehr, meist aber einfach nur weniger. Und es genügt einfach nicht, eine billige Umsetzung eines guten PlayStation-Spiels vorzulegen, um am PC gelobt zu werden.

Yuck. I just got done playing some Colin McCrae racing on PS-X, and that game makes this seem like utter dung. V-Rally is utterly horrible due to the fact that cars seem like they are on bubble tires – bouncing around endlessly. There is just no realism. The courses are completely disproportionate to the cars and leave no room for any sort of counter-steering. This is definitely a game you don't want to get near.
