DescriptionReleased around the same time as the film of the same name and loosely based on its story, this installment in the Double Dragon series also moves away from the traditional roam-the-streets-fighting to a pure one-on-one fighter. There are ten characters to choose from, including Billy and Jimmy and the game has colorful interactive backgrounds, screen zooming, over-the-top special moves and with the inclusion of double jumps, combos, charges for the losing player and counter hits, there is plenty of room for advanced fighting strategies.

CharactersBilly Lee, Jimmy Lee, Marion, and Abobo are the only four characters from the original Double Dragon games. Duke was the final boss in Super Double Dragon.
MovieThis game was loosely based on the 1994 Double Dragon movie starring Mark Dacascos, Scott Wolf, Alyssa Milano and Robert Patrick. The Neo-Geo version has a small FMV clip in the intro with scenes from the movie, and Marion's stage has screenshots of the movie on a big-screen TV in the background.
Rebecca, Eddie, Dulton, Cheng Fu, Amon, Duke and Burnov did not appear in the movie. Marion, Billy Lee, Jimmy Lee and Koga Shuko are the central characters of the movie but look completely different from their on-screen counterparts.
