As for the game's enjoyability, Lolo follows the same trend as Shadowgate. If you're new to the game, you'll be spending hours at a time finding the solutions to the tougher puzzles, and this game will be incredibly addicting. (A big help to this cause is how you can continue after a Game Over, thus allowing you to leap right back into the fray.) Once all the puzzles are solved, though, the interest drops. This is a game you'll want to play, beat, leave alone for a few months (or however long it takes you to forget the solutions), and start playing again. A great find, nonetheless.

Some of the puzzles of quite ingenious, and the graphics aren't bad either. The controls are crisp and responsive, and the heroic musical score is also very good. Lolo's innovative gameplay earned it legions of loyal fans and prompted two sequels.

In conclusion, Adventures of Lolo is a good game overall for the puzzle fan or the casual NES gamer. If you're looking for a groundbreaking title that set the mold, you're not going to find it here even if you think you are, but it's still worth a look for its smooth arrangement and ease of play, as well as a password feature so you can pick at it whenever you want.

On the whole, Eggerland Mystery Revival can still be a rewarding experience. It is no small feat to put together a set of rules that is easy to learn but still allows for complex, varied gameplay. Nonetheless, it's a shame that so many of the rooms are challenging simply because it takes so long to explore all of one's options, and there is no excuse whatsoever for the rule-defying rooms. If you don't have an immense amount of patience, you might be better off with one of those fighting games or first-person shooters after all.
