Anticipation

Anticipation succeeds for all of the reasons that most of the other game show -style games fail. This feels like a game that was meant to be played with a control and friends over. There are no gimmicks here, this is just a straight board game intended for gamers of all ages. It stumbles a bit when it comes specific puzzles, but even now this is a lot of fun with four-players. Forget the annual Mario Party sequel, Anticipation is the Nintendo board game you should be playing.

Da hat Nintendo mal wieder was Feines zustande gebracht. Schnödes "Begriffe-Raten" wäre eigentlich nicht eines Moduls wert gewesen. Nintendo peppte das Ganze jedoch mit lustigen Grafiken, tollen Musikstücken und dem fast schon obligatorischen guten Nintendo-Spielgefühl auf, so daß dabei ein wirklich gutes Spiel herauskam. Das Modul hat in Deutschland nur ein Riesenproblem: Die Begriffe sind alle in Englisch, wodurch der Ratespaß doch stark eingeschränkt werden dürfte. Gerade deshalb kann ich mir das Modul allerdings als gutes Englisch-Lernspiel vorstellen. Auf jeden Fall sollte man "Anticipation" mit mehreren Personen spielen.

Abschließend bleibt zu sagen, dass Anticipation ein doch recht eigener Titel ist, der seine Stärken im Multiplayer-Modus hat. Einzelspieler werden zwar sicher auch die eine oder andere Runde Anticipation einschieben, aber um wochenlang zu überzeugen fehlt einfach die Abwechslung.

With board pieces like a pair of high heels and a logo which includes a pair of woman's lips, Anticipation certainly would like you to believe it's a wild party game. Don't be fooled. Four people willing to play a game will probably have much more fun with an old fashioned physical board game. Though you can play by yourself against the computer, the challenge is somewhat lacking and pointless. In all, you probably won't want to bother with this title. There are better party game ports than this.
