Bandit Kings of Ancient China is a real rarity in the NES library, and one that every experienced player and RPG fan needs to check out. If you're interested in retro gaming but lean more towards wargames, this is certainly a title for you, and a nice step into the world of Koei, who released a few more games like this one. It's really an impressive title in consideration of the detail involved and the amount of challenge, but it's definitely not a game for the less experienced of you out there. If you have the guts to try, make sure you take your time, you pretty much receive a PhD by proxy after completing it. Unfortunately, it's not easy to find complete and not cheap, but well worth it.
Some players will find the pace slow compared to more action oriented games while others will enjoy the depth, involvement and attention to detail.
An intriguing but
initially difficult to access game awaits if patience is your virtue. If
so, there is definitely something here and also a five player mode if
an epic battle over China is your bag!
