Lordy, a good license for a film sequel! What ever next? Seriously, Gremlins II is a great game, packed with humour and fun throughout. The developers have worked hard at getting the most out of the graphics, making them as accurate as possible (although it can be tricky at first to judge jumps). The sound is incredible: extra chips have been used to make the music and effects top notch, adding enormously to the appeal of the game. As for the playability, it's of a very high standard, and always fun, with the difficulty pitched so that everyone can progress at first, but later levels can only be passed by skill and practice. The later levels are my favourites, as the difficulty is matched by the increased fun - but the Gremlins themselves are tough opponents!

Special props go to Sunsoft for the top-notch eight-way controls. Shooting may not be as smooth with the D-pad as with other eight-way directional games like Contra, but I still managed to hit my targets more often than not. Here’s one licensed game for the NES that doesn’t reek of horse manure. That still doesn’t mean you should play it after midnight, though. That’s asking for it.
NES Archives (Jul 30, 2006)
This is a fun game for everyone. Gremlins fans and moderate gamers will especially like this game as it is hard at first but becomes pretty easy. If only they would have made a Gremlins 1…

Very playable with five large levels.
Now you can join Gizmo, Billy, Mohawk, and a whole new batch of Gremlins as they once again turn Kingston Falls upside down in this super new NES game from Sunsoft.
Interface (1991)
Retro Game Age (Mar 26, 2012)
I admit that were it not for the Nintendo Power review I would never have bothered with Gremlins 2. I liked the movie well enough but the thought of a game based on its events seemed destined to join the ranks of Total Recall and Predator. But I should have known better considering the architects behind it. Now if only they had survived the transition to the 32-bit era.
Sunsoft seems to be the only company who can bring movies to games. Gremlins remind me of Fester's, with the exception of jumping. Excellent cinema displays, great graphics and sound, as well as challenging play!

Gremlins 2 was one of those unbeatable games for me when I was a child, and revisiting it now as an adult reminded me of the game’s quality while proving that the punishment the title once dealt my younger self was always fair. The final stage and boss fight really tested my abilities, even now, but once those end credits rolled I felt a wonderful sense of accomplishment. It’s great when a cherished game from your past confirms its value in the present, and I can wholeheartedly recommend seeking out a copy of Gremlins 2 so that you too can enjoy every challenging second of it.

The DOS Spirit (Mar 11, 2012)
Gremlins 2: The New Batch holder riktignok til i den vanskelige NES-garderoben, men langt ifra umulig.
Play Time (Dec, 1991)
The presentation on this title is very fine, with above average graphics, sound/music, impressive boss sprites, and a few nice cutscenes to move the story along. Overall, Gizmo would approve!
I may have made fun of the game for not following the movie, but in the end, it's a very good thing. It doesn't try to stick to the plot and instead takes its own, much more enjoyable direction. My advice is to try it's a very fun game, despite the nagging flaws that makes the game difficult.
Video Games (Sep, 1991)
