N-Force (Oct, 1992)
A case of all quiet on the originality front - nothing to write home about - but a hell of a lot of fun.
GamePro (US) (Nov, 1991)
This is one of the few times you'll want a mouse in your house. One of the better 8-bit titles out this year, Tom and Jerry offers a decent level of challenge and animation that's worth its weight in cheese. Grab a controller and catch that mouse!
Video Games (Jun, 1992)
This past half-century has been witness to the comical cat 'n' mouse antics of Tom, a particularly frazzled feline and Jerry, his mischievous mouse friend. After starring in more than 200 cartoons, entertaining captivated audiences in over 90 countries and winning eight Academy Awards, this power duo now makes it's video game debut in Hi Tech's latest action-packed adventure game, Tom & Jerry. Will all that experience pay off? Don't get yourself caught in a mousetrap --- check out our furry friends in the most exciting Tom & Jerry appearance yet!

Understandably, the boss fights are against Tom, but these are the only times you’ll ever see him. Not once does he show up in a level, unannounced, ready to behave like the supposedly mouse-hungry cat he’s portrayed as. In the majority of boss fights too, Tom appears uninterested, as if he only showed up for contractual obligations. There’s a good chance he did. Tom & Jerry is all about Jerry. In a love/hate relationship such as theirs, that’s gotta break Tom’s juevos a little bit.
Enjoyable enough but doesn't offer anything particularly new. Tom and Jerry deserve more than this from a game, but it'll do for now.
The graphics and animation do the cartoon license justice, with nicely drawn sprites and large background objects. However, the title falters somewhat due to the questionable level design, which is not linear and is often unclear in defining a discernible path of action, resulting in backtracking and frustration. There is still a decent amount to admire here, like the boss battles against Tom, and the energetic (if sometimes grating) music tracks.
This isn't a horrible game and I want to like it more but it's just above average. This would have been great with just a little more TLC. It's worth a look with the music turned down of course but I wouldn't recommend investing a ton of time playing it. Save yourself the headache with the tedious music.
Anyway, the graphics and sounds in this cart were only average. However the game play is very good and offers some challenge. Not an outstanding cart, but not that bad either.
