It's not only about what is on the ice but also outside, offering the player plenty of coaching options and gives you the ability to create your own players and teams

Development

The NES version was reputedly coded in a single night.

Hockey League Simulator

Data can be imported and exported to Bethesda's Hockey League Simulator, essentially allowing one game to play the hockey and another to manage the league.
