Premier épisode d'une longue série, Ys premier du nom a déjà tout d'un grand. Avec son background solide et son gameplay atypique et dynamique, le jeu parvient à lancer la saga sur de très bonnes bases et ceci à tous les niveaux. Il ne reste plus qu'à poursuivre les aventures d'Adol dans l'opus suivant, indispensable afin de connaître le dénouement de la quête initiée dans ce premier épisode.
