After a nightmarish wizard starts robbing children of their dream energy, you leap into the body of Nights — a jesterlike fellow who zooms, loops, and spins through the air at dizzying speeds — to collect the glowing fragments of your own stolen dreams. As you rack up points, you get to perform graceful acrobatic stunts that offer a more compelling sensation of soaring than most flight simulators.
Nights, a wonderful game brought to you by the same man who created Sonic. What does one do in the game? Well, you basically fly around collecting little blue balls. If you don't already own this game, plan on getting it. Its a masterpiece. Featuring brilliant 3d graphics, Nights takes you into another world. Game play like nothing before, the worlds are large and highly detailed, after a few hours of playing this game, I can say that its only the beginning.
Nights is a must have for any Saturn owner. Even if you personally don't like the game, buy it just to show off to Playstation owners. The new analog controller is a welcome edition to the Saturn and will undoubtedly be used more in the future. With games like Nights, Virtua Fighter 2, and Panzar Dragoon Zwei, it appears as though Sega is finally showing the true power of their home system.

Words are missing to describe my feelings towards Nights. Its eye-popping graphics combined with a great game play and the enchanting soundtrack make this game enter straight into the legend.
Sega Collectors Guild
Overall, Sonic Team has provided us with another masterpiece. NiGHTS
is extremely well-designed and a must have for all Saturn owners. With
its unique and enjoyable gameplay, as well as a story that we can all
somewhat relate to, NiGHTS is a classic gaming experience that
everyone should get to experience. And, unlike most good Saturn
games, you can still get this game fairly cheap on ebay, so go buy it

NiGHTS Into Dreams is quite possibly the single most fun that I have had on the Saturn so far. Flying around the screen, you collect orbs, drop them off in what looks like a jellyfish of sorts, then move on to the next level. You’ll play these horizontal flying levels until you reach a boss, the most challenge that you’ll get out of the game.
The Video Game Critic
The game's happy, upbeat music is high quality and pleasant. Nights may take a while to grow on you, but there's no denying the game's unconventional genius. Ultimately it failed to resuscitate the faltering system, but it's a title many Saturn owners will always cherish.
Sonic Team’s underrated gem, NiGHTS into Dreams… Players looking for an 80 hour epic should look elsewhere, but anyone interested in something different should definitely check out NiGHTS. Saturn consoles are fairly cheap on eBay, and a copy of NiGHTS with a 3D controller is also relatively easy to find as well. Sadly, this game did not get the kind of success that it deserved in the US, and a sequel has yet to be announced. However, the forthcoming version of Phantasy Star Online for the Gamecube will have a NiGHTS mini-game that can be downloaded to a Gameboy Advance… perhaps if we are lucky, that is an indicator that a market does exist for a NiGHTS sequel, and one day NiGHTS will fly again onto consoles.
NiGHTS is Sonic Teams answer to anybody who complained that Sonic the Hedgehog was too 2-dimensional. But even in 3D, NiGHTS still suffers many of the problems that plagued Sonic for so many years.
NiGHTS into Dreams... is rightfully one of the Saturn's top games -- along with a handful of other games, it helped define the console. SEGA was masterful at delivering innovative, unique games that were not necessarily mainstream appealers, but it knew exactly how to please its loyal base. And NiGHTS is definitely one for the base. If you have a Saturn and its without NiGHTS, your collection is woefully incomplete.
Sonic was a very focused game a clear aim, making it easy to pick up and play. By contrast, a lot of the time Nights feels as if its gameplay has been made to fit within a set of technological displays of competence, with good 3D, excellent texture mapping, total freedom of movement for characters, fast polygon movement - selling points for the Saturn around which a game has been framed. Nights is an enigmatic game that the public might take to their hearts or might reject out of hand. Either way, it's not quite good enough to be a all-time classic.
