The puzzles can be tricky as times, but that only enhances the challenge. You'll be tasked to find multiple items such as "Four tapes," and when you comb the screen with your computer mouse to find them all you realize they're not all the same thing. In this scenario, the items are an audiotape, VHS cassette, measuring tape and sticky roll of tape. Likewise, the Story mode also features six tricky mini-games. The first one, for instance, is a "logoscope" puzzle where you must flip through numerous symbols and figure out what word each symbol stands for to decipher a message.

Pros: Polished gameplay. Great story, presentation. Available for Macs, too. Attractive graphics and music. Mini-games challenging. Cons: Relatively short. Questionable replayability. Some item tasks are confusing.

Overall, The Nightshift Code is a very entertaining, at times frustrating, and fun game for all ages and level of gaming. The story is interesting enough to snag you early on and make you want to finish, simply to find out what happens at the end, then keeps you saying to yourself “one more level, just one more” until you have finished the game in only a few sittings.
