Zwar kupfert der Titel ordentlich beim Vorbild ab, bringt aber auch genug Abwechslung und Innovation mit. Denn trotz der Tatsache eines Fun-Racers, weiß der Titel auch mit ein paar Überraschungen in Sachen Gameplay zu überzeugen. Fans von Spielen wie Mario Kart, welche sich nicht gerade von den Helden vom Cartoon Network abgestoßen fühlen, können also ziemlich bedenkenlos zugreifen.

In conclusion, this is probably the best Game Factory game I have played to date. So if you are a kart racing fan who's looking for something to hold you over until Diddy Kong Racing is released, or even if you are just a fan of the shows on Cartoon Network, there is little logical reason for you to pass on this game. Even without online play, it has enough to keep you occupied for quite some time.

Overall, Cartoon Network Racing is a great game for that fledgling racer in your household, that younger gamer who is itching for something new. With simple controls and familiar characters, Cartoon Network Racing provides the juvenile set with a racing experience that is easily accessible and entertaining, featuring a host of rewards that make the overall game session that much more worthwhile. However, those gamers already familiar with kart racing might want to stick with the Mario Kart series, as the fun factor, while present, is certainly not something that offers much in terms of overall challenge. All in all, it's a very solid game that suffers a bit in terms of graphics and sound, but more than makes up for it in excitement and extras. It might not be challenging and may only appeal to younger gamers, but it's still a lot of fun and a great entry title for those interested in kart racers.

Die vielen netten Anlehnungen, Soundschnipsel und Minispiele sind nett gemacht, werden jedoch durch die üble Fahrphysik des Racers getrübt. So richtig gut fühlen sich die Rennen nämlich nicht an und das Ergebnis hängt mehr von Glück als vom spielerischen Können ab. Der Grafik mangelt es zudem an Details - das entschuldigt das Cartoon-Setting nicht. Sie läuft aber recht flüssig. Toll hingegen sind die freischaltbaren Cartoon-Folgen in voller Länge. Wenn nur das eigentliche Spiel genauso lustig wäre!

In the end, Cartoon Network Racing is better than what is usually passed off as a licensed kart racer, but it's certainly no threat to Mario Kart. Younger children who are into any of the kid-friendly shows on Cartoon Network and are more concerned with seeing their favorite characters than they are about great racing will probably have a reasonably good time with the game. Anyone with more discerning racing tastes will probably play the game for a couple of hours, unlock most of the items, and then be done with the game forever.

Cartoon Network Racing, like many other kart racers, is stuck in the land of mediocrity. It doesn’t have enough to make it as good as Mario Kart, but yet it is a better gaming experience than some other imitators.

Conveniently for consumers, Cartoon Network Racing nicely fulfills its stereotype as a licensed kart racing clone: an unsurprising mediocre mirroring of one of gaming's most popular casual racers. There is some quantity to make up for the lack of quality — namely in some unlockable bonus features and a well-rounded cast of 20 playable racers, but at the end of the day, you're simply better off making laps around Luigi Circuit than "Townsville Raceway."
