Godzilla Unleashed: Double Smash is a side-scrolling action game. The story is about a giant crystal meteor hitting the earth, caused by Space Godzilla, so the player assumes the role of two monsters from the movies (selecting from ten different ones, like Godzilla, Mothra, Destroyah and more) with the option of changing them in-game, to battle other monsters and armies to eventually defeat Space Godzilla. Each of the monsters plays differently, and the player can unlock more monsters after finishing the game. Both screens are used to show the gameplay, with flying monsters appearing in the top screen and ground monsters at the bottom.
