Whichever way you look at it, it's clear that many Bothans died to make this game. That's a little joke for those of us who fall into the 'Star Wars is a religion' category. The point is, however, that regardless of how seriously you take your Star Wars, we can't recommend this enough.

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is a must buy for all DS-owning Star Wars fans out there. It contains the complete levels of both previous games, and even tweaks the gameplay issues that plagued the earlier handheld ports.

Oh, well, at least this version doesn't put you through the same kind of mind-numbing pain that Lego Star Wars II became known for. Lego Star Wars: The Compete Saga is an exceptional home port for the series, and a fine return to form for the Nintendo DS. If you've still got a little bit of Force in you (and, really, who doesn't), then summon it to your game library today. Besides, Princess Leia in a slave outfit is a total block hottie.

The console version is the more impressive product, but Traveller's Tales handheld team pulled off a vastly improved version of the design for the Nintendo DS. Just wipe the existence of LEGO Star Wars II out of your mind - this one's the real deal. It's a really impressive, extensive single player experience, enhanced with the wireless cooperative mode for players with two copies at the ready.

This game is easily deserving of a spot on your holiday wish list, provided you can wait that long to play it. LucasArts and Travellers’ Tales have been a great job of making the Lego Star Wars experience portable and a genuine blast to play.

Although some crucial elements come up short (cut-scenes, buggy A.I.), Complete Saga still emerges as a great value in the big picture. The lengthy single-player game, extras, and minigames provide plenty to do, and generally atone for the bothersome flaws.

Even so, this is a very impressive recreation of the proper console's Complete Saga. Now if they'd just give it out to everyone who picked up the last DS version, it'd be apology accepted, Captain Needa.
