Summary
Yellow cliches
The Good
We have many games based on movies or tv series, and most of them are bad games. The Simpsons game is not the best game ever, but it's a good tribute to the successful yellow family.
One of the best things of the game is the fact that it's a platform genre game, but it has many different stages and things to do on them beside collecting the special items. You will play as every member of the family and each one have different powers to achieve their objectives. There are many stages and the game's not short. It will take a bit to finish the game (specially if you want to get everything).
Cinematics are good, and the characters will talk during the whole game with different ingenious sentences depending on the stage you are. So, the sound's good (cinematics need more volume) as well as the music.
The main story is as ridiculous as a chapter of the tv series, so, no problem. You'll meet famous people like the main creator of the Simpsons, Matt Groening, or God himself.
The game is not difficult because you can't die. It uses a checkpoint system but some parts of the game are hard, specially the final level. The game has a multiplayer mode, which is simple but effective with different game modes to play with someone else.
The Bad
No important problems with the game. Jumps are a bit frustrating and battles aren't spectacular, but nothing important.
It's not an addictive game, so, probably you will finish once and nothing more. You will forget about taking all the items on every stage soon.
The Bottom Line
A decent game of The Simpsons, with all the cliches of a platform game and nothing more. You'll play it if you don't have another one or nothing much better to do, but it works good as an immediate enjoyment.
