In the opening of this game, a picture of the puppet-like versions of the four original members seen in the first Star Fox is shown (even though the first game doesn't fit into the current Star Fox continuity).

Continuing the Star Fox tradition of Sci-Fi homages, Command features a boss based on the gigantic Sandworms of Frank Herbert's Dune series. It's is found on a desert planet and it's even called the Dune Worm.

The player will see various F-Zero pilots; Octoman is a boss.
