Node Jumper is a single-player puzzle game. In this game the player has to race around a grid-like structure in which multiple gems reside. By travelling around all four sides of a cell containing the gem the player captures / releases it from the grid. The level is complete when all gems have been released. There are guardians of the grid, Electron Emulsifiers, who aim to catch the player and prevent this from happening. The game is entirely keyboard controlled.

The full game has seven missions and a bonus mission, each mission having five levels. Some compilations such as Greenstreet's Office Games contain a special Eedition of this game which typically has only the first few missions.
