This RPG is very complex and requires a great deal of preparation and memorization. Nevertheless, I loved it!!! It was a huge success in Japan and I think it should do equally well over here. I suggest that you get this game today!!! But I must warn you...this game is highly addictive.

No doubt about it, a card battle game in the U.S. is long over do, not to mention another game form the RPG masters at Enix. Ogre Battle is a strategy fans dream come true. It's got amazing 3/4 view graphics, intense battles filled with magic, a great plot and fitting music. These ingredients are so important in strategy setting. OB's got 'em!

If you're not lucky enough to be one of the owners of one of those copies, you would have been looking at spending a hefty chunk of cash to buy a legitimate edition before this past Monday -- but now, with the game available for download from the Wii Shop for just eight bucks, it's an incredible deal. If you're at all a fan of strategy titles like Fire Emblem, Shining Force, Advance Wars or any modern game with the word "Tactics" in its title, you owe it to yourself to check out one of the rarest and most respected entries into the genre from the 16-bit generation.

The attention to detail - not to mention the game's 12 possible endings - make Ogre Battle one of the most in-depth and dynamic RPG games now available for any system. The replay value of this game is extremely high, offering hundreds of hours of happy exploration and conquering. Highly recommended; this one is definitely worth purchasing.

It's a walk down memory lane to play Ogre Battle on the Virtual Console. While later games such as Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Calibre would reprise and update the formula, it's a rare thing to see. Most SRPGs follow the formula of its successor, Tactics Ogre. It's not a bad thing, but it does make SRPGs rather similar across the board. Ogre Battle's a classic, and one I strongly urge even newer gamers to pick up and experience for themselves.

This RPG is definitely different. For players looking for a well-rounded, interesting and involving game, this cart's the ticket. But purists of the role-playing genre may sense that this cart was ogre before it started.

This is a very fun game that combines some elements of RPG with a strategy-like sim game. One of the best features is the multiple story lines depending on how you answer the initial questions and therefore which character you get. Sure the graphics and sounds are good, but there are some cool weapons and hidden items to really keep your attention. I'm not a big fan of sims, but this has enough elements of RPG and action to keep my attention.

Atlus has done gamers a service in rereleasing this classic piece of strategy gaming. While not a monumental effort in any way other than gameplay, Ogre Battle: Limited Edition's value is undeniable.

Any gamer will be able to pick up the mechanics of this Dragon Force-style strategy game, even a cynic like me. My largest complaint is the inability to directly control each fighter's actions in battle. Still, this Japanese hit will be a fine addition to any library.

PlayStationIGN
Although Ogre Battle possesses some of the strongest game elements ever to exist on any console, re-releasing onto the PlayStation with no major changes in the game itself was, in fact, not the best way to use a company's energy and finances. How about some new games?
