One Step Beyond

Graphics may seem a little boxy, but are very good considering the age of the game. This original concept was refreshment after zillions of uninspired logical games. Every lover of this kind of games will be delighted: this is a MUST for them. All other players surely won't make a mistake with this one. Have a bite of the great time with Colin, platforms and Quavers.

Following in the tradition of offbeat and extremely playable puzzle games like Gem'X and, erm, some others, One Step Beyond requires a combination of both mental skill and arcade agility. Okay, so the sound's pretty terrible and you're probably not going to repeat it once you've done it, but with 100 levels, what's the problem?

Good stuff this. Original, cute, well presented and addictive. All the qualities a good game should have. It's all to easy to say it's just another puzzle game and pass it off. There are 100 levels here and that should keep you going for quite some time.

This smooth and playable puzzler is a treat. But it;s simply not rewarding enough to give you the necessary feeling of accomplishment.

One Step Beyond is a fun game. The puzzles aren't too hard but there's 100 levels so they should keep you going for a while. The music is plain, but not too intrusive, and the graphics, though simple, are workman-like. Colin himself is OK as licensed beings go, but he is a little tricky to control, which can be frustrating at times. Still, fans of the genre will like it.

Another attempt to make a classic puzzle game bites the dust and goes down in a blaze of derision. Even by puzzle game standards this has to be one of the most tedious and boring games I have ever played. It's about time Colin Curly either went straight with some different games or went back to eating crisps, which is about all he's good at.
