For those who have played Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis to death, the gold upgrade adds plenty of new features, updates and extra incentives to return to the battle field.

Included in the package is the new single player campaign, Red Hammer: The Soviet Campaign Add-on. Here you play as Dmitri Lukin, whose task it is to live another day while fighting for the Soviet forces. New weapons, vehicles, cut-scenes and voice acting are included for a totaly new game.

Also included out of the box are the previously downloadable upgrades for Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. Upgrades 1, 2 and 3 includes 10 new vehicles and 3 new weapons to use in 4 new single player missions and 12 mutliplayer maps, plus improvements to enemy AI and previous glitches in the game.

Finally, the official strategy guide by Prima is included, all 64 pages to help you out of tight situations.

North American Operation Flashpoint Gold Edition flaw

The master disk for the North American version of Operation Flashpoint Gold Edition contains a flaw that prevents it from loading. This problem does not affect the Gold Upgrade or any other version of Operation Flashpoint in any territory. When Codemasters discovered the problem they immediately withdrew the product from sale throughout North America. A new, correct, master has been created and perfect product will go on sale across North America next week. For those that have already bought the flawed disk Codemasters have implemented a replacement system. Any legitimate owner should contact Codemasters customer service in the USA, who will make quick security checks before sending out a replacement disk.
