Atari STComputer and Video Games (CVG) (Jul, 1988)
Certainly not a game you can expect to finish quickly, then. Fortunately, there's so much to see that there's not a chance of getting bored.
Commodore 64The Games Machine (UK) (Jun, 1988)
Pandora is very much an arcade/adventure - complete with the frustrating lack of a save-game function - though perhaps with more emphasis on the latter element.

Pandora has overtones of many sci-fi classics - including the cult film Dark Star, see if you can spot it - and although it is basically an adventure, its style and format should make it appeal to a far wider audience. Certainly worth checking out.
Atari STThe Games Machine (UK) (Jul, 1988)
While not making best use of the ST - other than in graphics - this is a reasonable conversion and a compulsive, atmospheric puzzle that won't take forever to solve.
AmigaThe Games Machine (UK) (Sep, 1988)
The background graphics are neatly done, presentation is generally high, but what lets it down is the unsettling scrolling and crude animation of the main characters. Both of these problems could have been rectified by taking advantage of the Amiga's stronger abilities.
Superb graphics and satisfactory gameplay generate sufficient atmosphere to gloss over the weakness of the scenario. By the time the atmosphere begins to pall, you'll probably have solved enough puzzles to give you renewed enthusiasm.
Atari STST/Amiga Format (Aug, 1988)
Thankfully, completing the game requires more than violence. You have to locate and interrogate computer terminals after first securing the correct access codes, and map out the route to the heart of the ship in order to shut down the drives before it hits Earthspace. In the meantime you can increase your score by finding and dumping alien artifacts down a shuttle chute. But then there are times when you'll feel like taking that chute yourself since there's no means of saving your current position. An unfortunate oversight in an otherwise extremely playable game.
Atari STST Action (Aug, 1988)
To my surprise, Pandora, although sometimes quite tricky, turned out to be a rather interesting game. The arcade feel combined with the more adventure-orientated ideas all helped to make Pandora a worthwhile game. Pandora will keep its players busy for sometime, and although I played the game for over two hours, I never actually managed to get past the level of "Dog-Meat"! I recommend Pandora to anyone remotely interested in the arcade/adventure-style games.
Atari STASM (Aktueller Software Markt) (Jul, 1988)
Commodore 64Power Play (May, 1988)
The 64 is lacklustre on screen. Lacking atmosphere, the game reveals it's flaws all too soon and fails to impress.
