Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III

Cute it may be, but this is a tough and very different arcade platformer. A super game which deserves a place in anyone's collection.

The success of its predecessors means that Parasol Stars will sell by the lorry load. It would have been easy for Ocean to take the easy option and simply churn out a game to the old formula. Thankfully they haven't followed this road. The gameplay has been improved considerably and a lot of effort has been put into the development of the new product. The game's style is very much like a console product with bouncy tunes, plenty of colour and cute graphics all in a cartoonesque environment. The result is an addictive game that will prove to be as popular as its parents.

Siinä missä Rainbow Islands oli kuitenkin pelillisesti ja ideallisesti askel eteenpäin, on Parasol Stars paluu takaisin vanhaan, tuttuun ja turvalliseen. Kotelon päällä lukee Rainbow Islands II, kun itse asiassa tulisi lukea Bubble Bobble II. Tämä on oikeastaan pelin ainoa merkittävä heikkous. Pelin mainio pelattavuus varsinkin kaksinpelinä nostaa kuitenkin Parasol Starsin klassikoitten joukkoon.

A good, if a little frustrating conversion which is a worthwhile follow-up to the Gameboy version of Bubble Bobble. Admittedly, there is a slight lack of variety, but it's still a fun and addictive game...

Parasol Stars is an amazingly fun game just because it's so simple to play. Simplicity in puzzle games almost always results in the player becoming immersed and addicted for hours and even days. This is a lassic that no puzzle game fan or anyone with a TurboGrafx 16 should be without.

Again, people may consider this game too simple, especially in an era of deep-story RPGs and fancy 3D graphics, but for a good, mindless romp where the biggest challenge is reaching the high score, Parasol Stars is it.

Nach drei Jahren macht sich Klein-Bubby mit seinem Kumpel Bobby mal wieder auf Abenteuerjagd. Dieses mal begeben sich die beiden auf eine Rettungsaktion über sieben Planeten, die allsamt von unseriösen Monstern heimgesucht werden.

Actually, that's the biggest problem of this whole game: it's quite fun, colorful and works good, and it's way better than Rainbow Islands ... but it's just not Bubble Bobble. The original is still the best in the trilogy. It has better instant gameplay, a catchier tune and the tiny green and blue dinosaurs look a lot cuter than the dumb ass ginger kids.

Inte så originellt men väldigt gulligt litet plattformsspel. Nästan lite för gulligt kanske.
