Description

This was the second Infocomic in the ZorkQuest series

The unique element of this software was you could "follow" the narrative from a single characters POV, or "jump" to a new characters POV. Thus, you could re-read the story again and learn new things about how the characters different paths affected each other and the outcome of the story.

The display techology used a 3D vector format; Many scenes scaled (like zooming on a camera lens) at a sacrfiice of detailed graphic textures colors.

Trivia

Infocomics were a huge commercial failure for a number of reasons:

  1. it wasn't really a game
  2. low CGA graphics appeal in a time when EGA was king
  3. the low pricing did not inspire quality confidence in the consumer's mind

ZorkQuest: The Crystal of Doom was released after the original 3 Infocomics flopped. Since this one was "in-the-can" it was shipped, but to save costs, only the cover art was changed, the rest of the package was the exact images from ZorkQuest: Assault on Egreth Castle.
