Sure, this is really just a companion product to the newly released movie, but I can say without fear of contradiction that it blows most of the other recent Disney tie-in games away. Not that it breaks new ground or invents its own genre, but Return to Never Land The Game is as much fun as a kid would be likely to have on PlayStation right now. It does a great job of taking something central to Peter Pan and turning it into level after level of creative gaming. The levels aren't always so different and the game itself seems to be gone before you know it, but just as kids like to watch the movie, read the book and eat the happy meal, they love to play their games.

Overall, Peter Pan in Disney’s Return to Neverland is a great kiddie game. Gameplay is distinctive “Disney”…just unadulterated and harmless fun. Gameplay is full of movie clips, cool mini-games, challenging gameplay, and revolves around a simple story. The only flaws I found with the game are the loading times. They are extremely slow and if Peter dies the player will have to start the level all over again, each time needing to reload the level. This can be very frustrating after a while and requires some patience. Luckily, kids do have more patience than most adults. If you have small children in the house, they will surely enjoy Peter Pan Return to Neverland. It will definitely supply hours of pure wholesome fun. All it takes is faith, trust, and a little Pixie Dust.

This game is just what you would expect and despite the violence involved it is a good game to compliment the Disney movie. A fun adventure with Peter Pan.

Inconsequential and harmless, "Return to Neverland" is a 32-bit rental bone for parents to toss at their youngster that keeps begging for a PS2 to play the cool games that the other kids at school talk about (like "Jak & Daxter" or "Klonoa 2"). Guess what mom and dad? A bone without meat will still make Jr. crave the addictive gameplay and cutting-edge visuals that the PSOne simply can't squeeze anymore.

Even though the game mostly displays Peter Pan floating around collecting feathers, as a beginner adventure game it features some basic, though pleasing fundamentals. Timing Peter's ascension over high rocks through the spinning of the sword stars, or toggling a switch and making it back in time to the open gates provides fun challenges that evoke little frustration. Children who have enjoyed Peter Pan will likely be hooked by this title -- at least for a brief period of time.

Taking it for what it is, Peter Pan in Disney's Return to Never Land may be enough for the younger sect to use up one of their free rentals at Blockbuster, but for the rest of us trudging through a game we've seen a million times before (and done better at that) isn't worth even a stitch of our time. Pass on it.

If the game wasn't so blatantly geared towards young ones, Pan may have been more enjoyable. Unfortunately the simplicity and length will turn away most of your "core" gamers looking for more of a challenging platformer. If you need a good babysitter, Return to Neverland will fit the bill nicely. If you are a developer and you plan on making a platformer, even with Disney as your focus, please remember that older audiences still have a place in their heart for these characters. You may generate not only more of a following, but a broader audience that generates sales.
