If you're a serious green-stalker and you're looking for a great 16-bit golfing challenge, download your brain's best golfing strategy and plug in PGA Tour Golf.

DOSAbandonia
Enjoy this great looking and sounding golf game, in which some celebrities will guide you through the course you want to play and give you advice for each hole separately. But if you feel you’re good enough, you can try the pro game, where you really need to be sharp to keep your score down (down score, down… that’s a good score, here’s a treat). The game has a selection of four different golf courses.

Even if you wouldn't know a sand wedge from a cricket bat, it makes no difference in PGA Golf Tour. If you're still unconvinced, track down an independent dealer and get yourself a play test. You'll be hooked in no time.

AmigaCU Amiga
PGA Tour Golf is without question the best golf sim on the market and shows how the excellent attention to detail in graphics, playability and overall gameplay shows that Electronic Arts have got golf sims off to a tee.
92
AmigaZero
It's the break in play as you grapple with the graph that spoils things a bit. But only a very teensy bit, though. Anyway, the rest of the game's so smart that even this niggle doesn't drop PGA below ZERO Hero status.

AmigaThe One
The added sound effects - birds chirping in the trees, crowds 'oohhing' when you narrowly miss a putt and cheering wildly when you birdie a hole - just serve to emphasise how much attention has been paid to detail and lend further weight to the theory that PGA Tour Golf is the best golf game currently available.

DOSASM (Aktueller Software Markt)
Mit PGA Tour Golf ist der legitime Nachfolger entstanden, an dem sich alle späteren Golfspiele werden messen lassen müssen.

GenesisComputer and Video Games (CVG)
PGA Tour Golf is starting to have the same effect as John Madden Football did in the office at the moment (people tend to "disappear" for a quick round) and weighs in as one of the best sports games available on the Megadrive - take a look!

AmigaComputer and Video Games (CVG)
In practically every respect, PGA is excellent - the game itself is very addictive indeed, with some excellent graphics and sound, and the number of options will have any golf freak foaming at the mouth!

GenesisMean Machines
PGA Tour Golf is probably the best game of its type available. The graphics and sounds are simply superb on all counts - the animation on your golfer is incredibly lifelike. The sound too is great, with plenty of sampled effects. Rob Hubbard provides the musical accompaniment - so the quality of the music is guaranteed! With it's multitude of options there's plenty to keep you going, and though there's only four courses they're all quite challenging to complete. Take some other players with you on to the courses and PGA Golf adds a great competitive spirit to the proceedings. PGA Golf may not look visually exciting, but for any golfing fan (or anyone else who fancies something different) this is the one to get!

DOSACE (Advanced Computer Entertainment)
This is easily the best computer simulation of golf to appear on popular micros. It is thoroughly recommended to both experienced golfers and new players alike.

AmigaAmiga Format
If you like a quick round now and then, but your golfing skills leave you horrendously over par at the end of the day, then try a round of PGA Tour. It could allow you to enjoy the game with a fraction of the frustration encountered on the greens - not to mention the saved expense of clubs being damaged when hurled into the bunker in a temper!

AmigaAmiga Power
A jolly good golfing sim which is not only easy to play and true to life, but rather scrumptiously playable too.

AmigaAmiga Joker
Amiga Joker HIT.

GenesisVideo Games
Der Golfkonkurrent auf dem Mega Drive, Segas "Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf" wird von PGA im direkten Vergleich geschlagen.

AmigaAmiga Action
Golf is certainly not my favourite sport but I rally enjoyed playing this, underlying the possibility that it could appeal to non golf fans.

DOSThe Games Machine (UK)
For a polished, realistic and playable game of golf with all the trimmings, PGA Tour Golf is the one to go a round with.

Golf translates surprisingly well into video game form. In PGA Tour, one to four players can compete on three actual courses and one fantasy course. The controls are simple to learn but tough to master, and the game moves along at a steady clip, eliminating the boring lulls you might expect from a golf game. The courses look nice, but because of their flatness, never seem to vary much. It's a pretty quiet game except for bird chirps and crowd reactions to putts. An extremely useful battery backup system saves your game and stats. The worst part of the game is the awkward, non-standard interface that forces you to navigate various drop menus. It's impossible to remember what button is used to select and what is used to cancel. But once your game is finally set up, you don't need to deal with it. PGA Tour Golf was the first in a series of fine golf games for the Genesis by Electronic Arts.

AmigaAmiga Computing
All in all, it's still a golf game, but EA's PGA Tour Golf would be a first choice on my list of sports sims.

Originally, I never really played any golf games for the Genesis, but now as time progresses I have started to pick up a few here and there at my local gaming store when I can't find anything else I want to pick up particularly badly. At first, I started to think that there wasn't a Genesis golf game that was worth more than a quarter, but I actually have had some decent fun with it. You know, like any early Genesis game it has its flaws, but I still like it enough not to notice too much. It's like one of those old classic golf shows on the golf channel put on the Genesis, chip this one into your Genesis and spend a few rounds lowering your handicap.

Game GearGamePro
While it's hardly a double bogey, PGA Tour Golf isn't quite the eagle it wants to be. It's about par for the course.

Game GearGame Players
If you can learn to compensate for the shortcomings in PGA Tour Golf then you might just be able to squeeze in an enjoyable trip to the links anytime and anywhere without coughing up the extortionate green fees.

SNESSuper Play Magazine UK
PGA Tour Golf is one of Electronic Arts' earlier experiments with the SNES, and is a conversion of what's generally agreed to be the best golf game on all formats. However, while the mechanics of the game are fine, presentation-wise it isn't ideal. The scrolling is jerky and the colours horrible - robbing the game of the atmosphere essential to a golf game. The ball doesn't move terribly realistically, either. It judders along and suddenly stops, rather than gliding to a halt.

Game GearThe Video Game Critic
The sparse scenery doesn't help much, and neither does the useless overhead map. One thing the game does do right is employ a standard, 3-button-press swing meter that's easy to use. Unfortunately, once the ball is hit, you have to wait several seconds for the new spot and surrounding scenery to be rendered slowly on the screen. This game will test the patience of most gamers. A few seconds here and there really add up over eighteen holes. PGA Tour Golf is a pretty weak golf game that you won't want to play unless you have a lot of time on your hands.
