The Video Game Critic
Area 51 is fun for one player, but the two-player simultaneous action is even better. There's also a nice option that lets you start the game halfway though. Unfortunately, since Area 51 is an older game, it does not support Namco's Guncon controller. For similar shooting action, see Maximum Force.
All Game Guide
The graphics in Area 51 for Playstation are not quite as sharp as in the arcade, but they are still quite good. Sound is also good, but is slightly different than in the arcade version. Replay valie is good the first few times you play Area 51, but it does tend to drag after multiple sessions. Overall, Area 51 is fun to play. If you invest in the gun for the Playstation, you might as well invest in this game.
