Although the game is difficult and devious for one player, the fun really heats up in the multiplayer mode. You can blow opponents up, throw them into fans, or make them land on spikes. Ah, joy...

Blast Chamber is quite literally a blast to play. There are many different types of offensive and defensive strategies that can be employed throughout the game. I personally like pushing players into the plasma traps or guarding my reactor, knocking the player with the crystal down as it approaches me, stealing the crystal and adding time to my bomb. The game pace is frantic and intense, and when playing with a group of people, you can choose to double or triple team an opponent. The game is one of the few reasons for you to actually want to go out and buy a multi-tap. This is easily one of the most original games to arrive for the Playstation this year and I can highly recommend the purchase of it!

In order to play this game properly, one must get a four player adapter. The one player, puzzle solving game is remarkably boring, while playing a multiplayer game with computer opponents just isn't as much fun as with humans. If you go out and get the multi-player adapter, get a couple of generic controllers for about ten bucks. That way you'll save a little money and still get to play Blast Chamber for all it's worth.

All in all, Blast Chamber is a title that's worth looking at if you have a few friends who can appreciate the four player battle modes. If you are looking for something to play by yourself, maybe you should look elsewhere first.

When four players take to the virtual battlefield the action gets very hot. Unfortunately, poor sound and a mediocre visual presentation bog the package down. Blast Chamber could have used more time in the oven, and a greater variety of unexpected events and details would have put this game over the top. As is, Blast Chamber is a little more than an enjoyable party game. Too bad, it could have been a real blast.
