Also, if you're a fan of the Tekken Series and can't wait for Tekken 4, go out and purchase Bloody Roar II right now. This zoo crew of fighters create one of the best fighting games available this season - a welcome addition to any fighter's library.
In conclusion Bloody Roar 2 is a very well made fighter but falls very short from becoming friends with mega hits such as Tekken3, SFA3, and Ehrgeiz. If your a fighting game fan then by all means go pick this one up.
Definitely another superb fighter to add to that bursting Playstation library of titles.
I usually just like to play, but for some reason the Watch mode is just plain cool. I really like it. The Story Mode is not quite what I expected, and frankly, it's not quite as deep as a comic book storyline. It's still cool, but not great. Anyway, it's the overall package that attracts me to Bloody Roar II.
Compared to other beat-em-ups Bloody Roar 2 stands comfortably alongside the likes of Dead or Alive, but doesn't quite reach the heights of Tekken 3.
Bloody Roar 2 is een uitstekende fighter die het ongetwijfeld een stuk beter zal doen dan zijn voorganger. Op de slappe soundtrack na is er geen enkele reden waarom dit spel niet zou thuis horen tussen de grote jongens.
Adrenaline Vault, The (AVault)
In many ways, BR2 is a simply excellent fighting game. It has enough little quirks to keep you playing for quite a while, but in the end, it won’t enrapture your attention the way Tekken 3 or Virtua Fighter 3tb did. BR2 is fun for a week or two, or maybe a couple of months if it really tickles your fancy, but there are better fighting games available. Longetivity aside, though, this is a title that all fighting fans should pick up at least once in the lives of their PSX.
The Video Game Critic
The analog and vibration controls are supported but don't add a whole lot to the gameplay. The Story Mode is really just a string of one-player battles loosely connected by cheesy cut-scenes. Bloody Roar 2 is not as good as Tekken, but it's a step in the right direction.
The bottom line is, if you never picked up the first game, Bloody Roar 2 is still a good game, with a much better cast than the first one. However, in contrast to the original American version of BR1, Bloody Roar 2 is a marginal improvement that still suffers from second-best status due to the exclusion of integral gameplay elements that should never have been messed with. The game is a major disappointment for such a promising series.
Bloody Roar II is a game that you just don't want to spend that much time with. It's fine for a try or two and nothing more. While good enough, Bloody Roar II isn't anywhere near the best.
