Turbo Racing possède des atouts de choc, comme le nombre de circuits et le mode Multijoueur.
It has been a long time coming but the finished product was well worth the wait. I played this racer some six months ago at Eutechnyx studios and the improvements are remarkable. The graphics have been tightened up and now reach a standard that equals, if not betters, V-Rally. You can see far into the distance with no redraw whatsoever. Controlling your car will take a little practice since you must combine the directional pad with the shoulder buttons but this soon becomes natural and actually makes it easier to handle the cars. However, the Analog pad is a little over-sensitive and will take days to master. I loved the idea of uncovering the secret tracks by driving off the race track, into the woods and through a glowing warp. Very Novel. If you own a link cable then GTR becomes a 'must buy' as the four player, split-screen, link up will knock your socks off.
Mega Fun (Nov, 1997)
Obwohl man gleich fünf verschiedene Fahrzeuge einbaute, ist dennoch jedes für sich beinahe ein eigenes Spiel wert, so überzeugend wurden sie in Aussehen und Fahrverhalten designt. Ob man mit dem Buggy durch die ägyptische Wüste heizt oder die Innenstadt von Hong Kong mit einem F1-Boliden unsicher macht, jedes Level hat seine eigenen Vorzüge. Darüber hinaus ist die Streckengestaltung bei Total Drivin‘ überaus abwechslungsreich geraten, wobei gerade die Länge der Kurse so manches Rennspiel vor Scham im Boden versinken läßt, Sehr gut ist auch die Möglichkeit, im großen Stil von der Strecke abzuweichen, um beispielsweise Abkürzungen zu finden oder waghalsige Überholmanöver zu versuchen. Total Drivin‘ kann ich allen Race-Fans daher bedenkenlos empfehlen!
Personally, I thought it was a very good idea to try and blend various genres of racing. Each car has it's own unique handling characteristics that must be mastered to win each race. The track designs are a work of art and provide just the proper touch of challenge and variety. In my opinion it's easily one of the best overall racers available right now for the Playstation or any other console for that matter. Check it out and see for yourself!

Yes, it would be nice to have excellent gameplay with Silicon Graphics visuals, but there is nothing you could call disappointing about Total Drivin’.With more motors than the average car dealership and tracks in picturesque honeymoon locations from the highlands of Scotland to the mountains of Switzerland, you can’t really go wrong with this one.

So muß ein Rennspiel aussehen! Total Drivin‘ verbreitet durch seine schicke Grafik mit unglaublicher szenarischer Vielfalt (Wüsten, Strände, Tunnels, Höhlen, Alpenpässe, kreuzende Bäche, Abzweigungen usw.) und technischer Raffinesse (nahezu null Pop-Ups, keine Nebelsuppe, atemberaubender Speed mit den Indy-Cars und makellose Steuerung) sofort ein Feeling, das zum Weiterspielen und Erkunden reizt.

All in all, Grand Tour Racing '98 is a fine racing game that stands out when compared to most other games in this already crowded genre. If you're a racing fiend or someone who has been waiting for the dust to settle on the genre, GTR is the clear-cut far.
It may not be the most perfect racer out there, but the level of variety certainly makes it stand out from the pack. On a system where racing games are a dime a dozen, that's high praise indeed.

Grand Tour Racing 98 is in no way a bad game, it just could've done with a little tightening up. Perhaps the sequel will be able to focus on one of the styles more closely.
