The Good
It's old, and no one but you is actually gonna read this. Well I just figured if one day when world piece is acheived, someone would remember what lead to it: SOTN. I mean if this game isn't perfection, what is. It's not perfect, therefore...?
Graphics I suppose were nothing really special, square blood hahaha, though I suppose they are suitable for 1997. Dear hell, I'm writing this 8 years after release. Scary. 4 out of 5.
Gameplay. Wow. RPG elements without being an RPG. Excellent. keeping track of the virual millions of weapons in your inventory. It's basic side-scrolling hack'n'slash goodness. Albiet, it's perfect. 5 out of 5.
Audio. Beautiful, symphonic soundtrack. The best music on PS1. Some tunes are just plain seductive, orgasmic. However... MORBID voice acting. Absolutely abysmal. Except Alucard... he's bearable. 4 out of 5
Overall, its just something you really gotta experience. There are no words to describe what puts it at the top of the gaming heap. It just is. Halo, GTA, Metroid, all killer apps cannot compare to this odd, 8 year old disc. 6 out of 5.
The Bad
Morbid voices. Die, monster. Please?
The Bottom Line
Get it, even though it's long forgotten. Someone, somewhere, must still be holding the copy, smiling.
