In the end, while it may not be anything original or mind-blowing, Crash Bash is a solid offering. While it capitalizes on a popular genre, much like CTR before it, that doesn’t keep it from being a solid game. If you have a group of people who want to sit around the TV and have a blast, you can’t go wrong with this.
It's hard to believe that a majority of very respected critics have under-rated Crash Bash, which in almost all ways is more exciting than a Mario Party game will ever be, there may not be as many mini-games as Mario but nearly every one given to you is a blast. While it won't win any awards for its graphics or other technological areas, Crash Bash stands out as being one of the best multi-player games since Crash Team Racing, it's a shame that he's not sticking around exclusively for the PSOne. By all means if you have a multi-tap and a few extra controllers, I urge you to get a copy of Crash Bash, it's mindless fun.
Crash Bash is a great party game for all ages. There is enough variety to keep you glued to your TV for a few hours. For the simple-minded gamers, there is no drawn out story line to follow. It\\'s like walking into an arcade and putting a quarter in the slot, play and concur! I found it to be a bit repetitive at times but still enjoyed playing it. Some may say it lacks in originality due to the similarities of a certain N64 game, but so what…this is the playstation version and one of its kind if thought of in that respect.
Crash Bash is a fun four-player PlayStation game, even if there is really nothing revolutionary about it. Younger gamers will appreciate the simplicity of games like Polar Panic, while more complex and faster paced games will keep more experienced gamers crashing and bashing for a good long time.
Video Games likes to party!
Despite its complete lack of originality, Crash Bash is a totally fun party game, and one of the few of its kind on PlayStation. How can I have so much contempt for Crash yet still like the game? It's not easy, but videogames have many layers, and Crash Bash is like spiked punch—it's perfect for a party, as long as you own a multi-tap.
Overall, Crash Bash is a blast for multi-player parties, but as a single-player game it leaves something to be desired. Playing through the adventure mode to unlock levels can feel more like a chore than entertainment. However, the sheer variety of games will entertain most any party for hours on end (or at least until the beer runs out.)
Keeping the flavor of the original Crash games intact, almost every significant character has returned, sporting unique abilities and moves. Many of the minigames are familiar, with gameplay stylized after Pong and Combat. One game even mimics Poy Poy to a tee. Along with these copycat concepts, Eurocom has created several innovative games, some of which I’m sure other developers will steal ideas from. Entertaining indeed, but the thrills are definitely limited. The quest mode doesn’t really seem to have a purpose, and repeating the same games over and over again with subtle variations in AI, rules, and appearance makes you crave variance and something more. But alas, Crash Bash has nothing else to offer.
Crash Bash is nothing great, especially if you're playing by yourself. But if you really love the character, or you're just looking for a simple party game to blow an afternoon with some friends, it may be worth checking out.
Crash Bash is a game that is utterly run of the mill, completely middle of the road. Its flaws may not be glaring, but there isn't a single aspect of the game that truly shines through. This rampant mediocrity doesn't help the game's case, nor does the necessity of a Multitap to enjoy Crash Bash to any extent. Multitap owners may want to check out Crash Bash for a rental , as the library of even proficient four-player PlayStation games is limited. But those who don't already have a Multitap and aren't looking to buy one will definitely want to take a pass on this thoroughly mediocre party game.
These games are moderately fun but tend to run too long. This is especially the case in the adventure mode, which lets you and a friend unlock new features. Crash Bash is high quality multiplayer title, but has an uninspired, "me too" quality.
In all, Crash Bash offers enough gameplay to warrant a purchase for someone who is looking for a good family game or a fun party game. Solo players may want to avoid it.
Likewise, Crash Bash leaves an equally foul taste in my mouth. In fact, I think Crash Bash is even worse, since you don’t even have an overlying game that ties all the minigames together. I will give this game credit for having more playable minigames than Mario Party, but that is of little consolation because Crash Bash is just plain lame. It doesn’t even register to me as fun, and I wouldn‘t suggest you even consider picking this game up.
