Crusaders of Might and Magic

Crusaders of Might and Magic, if given a little more love and care, could have redeemed the Crusader line from the pit that the PC version brought it into. As it is, it’s only slightly better, and still isn’t worth a purchase. Too bad; the concept was great. If only the execution were better...

Those looking for an engrossing RPG experience and a decent 3D adventure may want to check out Crusaders of Might and Magic.

3DO has yet again published another rushed game, with nothing inspiring about it. Crusaders of Might and Magic is their newest adventure title for the Playstation that has a mix of Fighting Force and Tomb Raider, and many elements of Soul Reaver. To get things started, this is definitely not Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, it's worse than Fighting Force, and the game is nothing like Tomb Raider. Instead Crusaders of Might and Magic, makes Fighting Force look good and Tomb Raider not old, but the fact is that if you're going to try releasing an Action/Adventure title, chances are it will probably be rushed, under worked, stale, and won't compare to the current titles. Here is a little advice for you 3DO, next time you publish another game, make sure you play it, instead of just shipping it out for a few bucks. See for yourself how CMM turned (by now you should tell that it isn't going too good).

Crusaders of Might and Magic est un jeu d’action où rien de prend : les décors ne favorisent pas l’immersion dans le monde, les sons non plus, la répétition et la superficialité des combats conduisent à la monotonie… bref, ce titre ne va pas marquer la série des Might and Magic, et encore moins l’histoire du jeu video, évidemment !

I'm absolutely pissed right now. Scratch that, I'm livid. Midway through my review, I received a wonderful message from my game. It was pretty much the same result as an old DOS4GW stack dump midway through some of the older DOS-games in the mid '90's- a screenfull of text and numbers meets your confused gaze immediately after watching you game cut to black. Guess what folks, Crusaders of Might and Magic isn't done. If it was, I wouldn't be getting game crashes. Crashes happen in betas or near-final builds, but NOT finals. And guys, I was reviewing a final.
