Darkstalkers 3

The graphics are pretty good, and since the games is made by Capcom you can bet your bottom dollar that the gameplay is an A+. The control is exquisite, doesn't take any time to get used to. As for the sound, it is as good as it gets, the music is pretty cool and goes well with the game. Now the dual shock is one of the best things in the game. It is excellently supported, and it's so good words can't describe it. Now for the modes in DS3, there is a mode where you can pick a character and modify it. There is an EX option which is obtained by fighting with your created fighter alot of times, there is also a picture gallery which is obtained the same way. Before ending this review, the FPS is great, there is little to no slowdown what so ever.

Compared to the original game, Darkstalkers 3 is a noticeable improvement. There a many more characters, and they tend to be larger and better animated. At its core it still plays like Street Fighter 2, but its offbeat humor and macabre style give it a distinctive flavor. The fun, sometimes nightmarish backgrounds are highly detailed and a feast for the eyes. It's not the deepest fighter in the world, but fans of the series should flip over Darkstalkers 3.

Overall, Darkstalkers 3 is an exceptional effort from Capcom on a gameplay and technical front. It's not the absolute best 2D fighter on PlayStation, but it's one of the best. I'm really surprised by how good a conversion it is, and can easily recommend it to fans of the genre, especially those who loved the arcade game.

Overall, Darkstalkers 3 is a lot of fun. It's easily the best fighter Capcom has put out in years. It doesn't fall prey to the cookie-cutter formula Capcom's been using to make the last few Street Fighter games. If you're a fan of Capcom-style fighters, or if you're sick of Capcom's recent cloning approach to fighting, Darkstalkers 3 is definitely for you.

Darkstalkers 3 lär väl knappast vara det sista beat 'em up-spelet vi får se från Capcom. Frågan ärdock om det inte är dags att röja lite i beat 'em up-träsket och förnya denna underbara spelgenre lite.

Voor een 2D beat'em up heeft Darkstalkers leuke features maar aan 2D beat'em ups heeft ome Kees inmiddels een broertje dood. De echte fans zullen echter weldegelijk aan hun trekken komen want Darkstalkers 3 is vergeleken met de meeste andere SF ripp-offs nog redelijk te doen.

The port is very nicely done, with only subtle animation loss and some minor slowdown, but the game itself isn't all that spectacular. The new Dark Force options are cool, I admit, but the Original Character Mode is lame and the graphics aren't as impressive as Night Warriors. Wait for SFA3.
