The most important task of Monster Island is to scare Nerves, the Fright Meter color that matches the color of the nerve you want to scare must be filled, if you don't have enough Ooze, the nerve will laugh at you, if your scare canister level starts dropping, you are not pressing the correct buttons, not pressing them fast enough, or laughing too hard to continue. The goal is to help Sulley and Mike become Top Scarers, that is what these monsters do, hide in closets so they can frighten kids, although they are much too cute to be real-scary.

I was very surprised with Monsters Inc. When I was handed this game, my first reaction was, "Oh great, another Disney game. This should be fun." (Add very sarcastic tone now.) But when I started playing it, I was happily amused. Sure there were no impossible enemies to pass or any annoying bosses, but when you make a game targeted for kids you don't want to include any vague mysterious puzzles or bazooka toting, trench coat wearing, monster. I fully enjoyed this game (When I lowered the volume) and would say this is a must by for any parent looking for a non-violent, fun, challenging, puzzle game for their children.

The bad thing about Disney games is that they’re all so similar, I often forget which game I’m playing. Aladdin’s New Groove – I mean Monsters, Inc – covers familiar ground, but adds some mildly amusing button-mashing scare tactics to the mix. Also, a medal system means you will need to play each level through multiple times. It looks like butt, though.

Un titre amusant mais à l'action bien trop répétitive et à la durée de vie un peu courte. Les plus jeunes devraient passer un agréable moment dessus mais les autres devraient se lasser très rapidement pour passer à quelque chose d'un peu plus sérieux.

Like most of the games being released for the PlayStation at this point, Scream Team is intended for younger, more casual gamers. The game is well produced enough, with an adequate soundtrack, sharp, colorful graphics, and a sound physics model, but the simplicity of the gameplay and the game's relative shortness keeps Scream Team from being attractive to the more serious gamers.

For the experienced 3D action/platform fan, Monsters, Inc is far too easy and repetitive; but for kids just getting into video games, it's a great place to start. So, I’ll give it a 5 here in the review since I’m older than the target market, but I will say that if I was still 9 years old, I would have given it an 8.
