www.nintendo.com – Game Boy Color:
An engrossing one-player adventure, four minigames and even a two-player Tag mode highlight this muscular Pak that will appeal to fans of platform games.
Simba's Mighty Adventure roars with characters from both the original Lion King and direct-to-video sequel Simba's Pride. The mane mode follows young or grown-up Simba through 10 sprawling levels. As a bonus, you can open four Timon and Poomba minigames by finding five Amulet Pieces in each level.
Simba's Mighty Adventure offers a feast of different challenges and clever touches. In the opening level, Pounce on Zazu, Simba can momentarily petrify snakes and other pests with his cub's roar. In The Waterhole, Simba must carefully cross on the closed snouts of crocodiles. Look to make sure they're closed before you leap! Vultures swoop down in the Elephant Graveyard.
After surviving Stampede, a top-down chase level, Simba becomes a young adult. Enemy animals become bigger and tougher, too, with many fighting valiantly until you've pounced on them twice. Your final battle with Scar rages in an island surrounded by flames.
Developer Torus Games has made clever use of a palette as bright as the Serengeti sun. The play control is a little on the loose side, but is generally fine.
Available now, Disney's The Lion King: Simba's Mighty Adventure is for Game Boy Color only. It is not compatible with monochrome Game Boy systems. Two Game Boy Color systems, two Disney's The Lion King: Simba's Mighty Adventure game Paks and a Game Link cable are required to play Tag mode.
The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated the game E (Everyone).

ACTIVISION SHIPS DISNEY’S THE LION KING: SIMBA’S MIGHTY ADVENTURE TO RETAIL STORES NATIONWIDE
Santa Monica, CA – December 22, 2000 – The king of the beasts roars onto the PlayStation® game console and Nintendo® Game Boy® Color this holiday season in an exciting new adventure from Disney Interactive and Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) -- Disney’s The Lion King: Simba’s Mighty Adventure. Based on Disney’s The Lion King and Disney’s The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride, the video games are rated “E” by the ESRB and are available for a suggested retail price of $39.99 (PlayStation game console) and $29.99 (Game Boy Color).
“Disney’s The Lion King: Simba’s Mighty Adventure allows gamers to join their favorite characters from Disney’s successful animated feature film and direct-to-video release in a challenging new adventure,” said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Studios. “With a variety of exciting levels and a host of fun activities to complete, gamers of all ages will enjoy hours of action-packed entertainment.”
The circle of life continues as players join the young lion prince, Simba, and discover what it means to be the rightful ruler of the Pride Lands. Gamers must avoid jungle obstacles and battle power-hungry enemies as they learn to rule like Simba’s legendary father, Mufasa.
Disney’s The Lion King: Simba’s Mighty Adventure for the PlayStation game console delivers 3D platform action and 18 minutes of film footage, while the Game Boy Color game offers side-scrolling gameplay. In both titles, players guide Simba through adventure-filled levels as they grow from a young cub to a powerful adult lion. Hungry hyenas, wild wildebeest stampedes and deadly Outland lion attacks make the learning quick as players discover what it means to be king of the beasts.
Once gamers master their kingdom, they can pounce on 4 different bonus mini-games specific to each game console. On the PlayStation version, players can catch bugs with Timon and Pumbaa, practice martial arts with Rafiki, play a classic memory game with Kiara, and more. The Game Boy Color version allows the player to use Timon and Pumbaa to literally “play with their food” as they grab, catch, collect and play tennis with their favorite food item – bugs.
