The game is sequeled by emperor, as in the beginning of emperor you will see the Ordos ending sequence from dune 2000. This is the first game by Westwood that the bad guys really win !
Although the game was supposed to be a remake of dune 2, the patch contained 3 more new units, 2 for each house! those units were never in dune 2 ! here is a list:
Ordos:Stealth raider:stealth raider trike
Harkonnen:Saradukar infantry
Atreids:grenedier
Version 1.6 of update for "Dune 2000: Long Live the Fighters!" is actually adding three new units to the game completely and with new icons on sidebar. Though, they can only be used in multiplayer mode. Atreides side gets grenadier soldiers, Ordos side gets stealth trike, and Harkonnen house gets to produce the sardaukar infantry.
"Dune 2000: Long Live the Fighters!" is actually more remake to "Dune II: Battle for Arrakis" then the game on its own which is proven by the same units and structures as well as completely same intro animation, only in better graphic.
