I won't mention control because it is exactly like WWF Attitude's and I will just skip to the conclusion. The ECW license could have been a fortunate one, but Acclaim needed a quick buck so they rushed out the title under an outdated buggy engine that needs a lot more polishing. ECW: Hardcore Revolution is merely worth a rental, and it is worth it to those who enjoy ECW, but other gamers STAY AWAY! Go purchase WWF SmackDown if you know what's good for you.

Wrestlingspel lever farligt på grund av dess trista, upprepande spelupplägg. Mindre fokus kring grafik och en ordentlig uppumpning av dess action är nödvändigt för att det ska kännas roligt.

ECW Hardcore Revolution isn't a bad game, by itself. But it in no way represents the style of wrestling that the ECW uses, it has absolutely zero points going for it in the originality department, and the game comes off as a real slap in the face to the federation's hard-core fans. ECW and its fans deserve better than this. ECW's wrestling style isn't the same as the WWF's, and ECW's game shouldn't be like the WWF's, either. Plus, this is the third year that Acclaim has trotted out the same wrestling engine with a few slight tweaks. It's getting very old. Fans of ECW would be better served by waiting for Acclaim's next ECW game, which will use a new (and hopefully more accurate) engine.

Vous l’aurez compris, ECW HR ne laissera pas une trace indélébile dans le monde du jeu vidéo – c’est un jeu de catch, un de plus, qui n’apporte rien, et au contraire qui déprécie le niveau (déjà pas bien élevé) des jeux du genre. Qui plus est le jeu est à peine maniable, et de toute façon le gamplay est trop limité pour être intéressant. Bref, laissez tomber, passez votre chemin.

Sammanfattningsvis är det alltså bara att konstatera att ECW: Hardcore Revolution är ännu ett i raden av undermåliga wrestlingspel. Vi som inte hade några förväntningar kan låtsas som att det inte finns, men de stackare som verkligen vill ha ett wrestlingspel har all anledning att bli upprörda. Så här får det ju bara inte gå till.
