Trivia
In the original version of Final Fantasy I, the tomb in Elfein read "Here lies Erdrick" - a reference to the character in the Dragon Warrior series. In the Final Fantasy Origins version, the tomb reads "May Link Rest In Peace." - An obvious reference to the protagonist in Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series.
There are countless changes and improvements in this release compared to the two original games. Here are some of them:
The graphics have been updated to look like SNES titles
There are CG videos instead of text-only introductions of the originals
If a monster is killed in a battle, the next character will automatically aim the next monster, instead of "hitting the air", like in the original
Dialogues have been slightly remade and improved in quality
You can now save the game at any place and any time as a temporary file, which will be deleted once the console is turned off
There are now two difficulty levels for "Final Fantasy", the "Easy" one being considerably easier than the original one (which was not easy at all, and became "Normal" in this remake). There is also an increased difficulty level for "Final Fantasy II", but you can access it only after having completed the game
There are in-game explanations for classes in "Final Fantasy"
There are tons of extras in both games: bestiary, art gallery, item collections, etc.
The names of three of the four main heroes of Final Fantasy II (Frionel, Guy, and Leonheart) were changed to Firion, Gus, and Leon. Most town names were also slightly changed.
