You can only do that after you get the Ragnarok. Go to the Cactuar Island, the one near Kashkabald Desert, and start doing battles there. The area is inhabited by Cactuars who give you 20 AP each when you defeat them. They can appear up to 4 Cactuars per time. If you have trouble defeating them, since they have high evasion and usually run away if you take too long, do the following. Squall's Hit has a 255% chance of hitting so don't equip him with a GF that has the Hit-J ability. If you have Selphie's final weapon, Strange Vision, then have Selphie on your party since the weapon's Hit has also a 255% chance to hit the target. The last character should be someone with adequate Strength. Pandemona, Cactuar and Tonberry have the Initiative ability so junctioning them would make things easier. Pandemona also has the Spd+20%, Spd+40% abilities so if you have enough left slots you should equip them too. You may also want to junction Cerberus to someone since he has the Alert and Auto-Haste abilities. Doing the above will raise the chances of defeating the Cactuars before they leave the battle. If 4 Cactuars appear at the same battle it is possible to win 80 AP in only one fight. That easy!
