It may look only functional at best, but Kurushi’s extreme playability comes from the pleasure of using logic and forethought that you never knew you had! Each wave also has a set minimum number of moves that you should be able to beat them in, and you can’t help but feel like some strategical heavyweight when you pull it off “on par” or even one under. Although lacking a simultaneous two player mode, Kurushi is instantly in the same league as the narcotically addictive Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. Especially suited to the adult mind, buy this before they sell out.

The addition of a remarkable complex modern orchestral score deepens the experience into a sort of trance-like meditation - in the fun, addictive way. Other flashier games may have overshadowed its original release in that early generation of PSone games, but IQ is the one that is still worth playing today.
Though not the most popular puzzle game on the market, Intelligent Qube is definitely a gem. It is a rare game to obtain, and you'd be hard-pressed to find it anywhere under forty dollars. If you have a need for something different and thought-provoking, or if you want to take a detour from those falling block puzzle games, Intelligent Qube is the answer.
THINK YOU'RE SMART? Alors, tentez votre chance a IQ!
What sound like a complicated game is in fact a very addictive experience. There is a gentle learning curve which eventually becomes a frantic race of mind and reactions. Could prove to be the most popular puzzler on the PSX.
Personally I'd wait for it to go into the budget line - at $20, Intelligent Qube would be a must-have. As it stands, only hardened puzzle fans who cherish quality gameplay over graphics will feel they're getting their money's worth.
Although psychology textbooks would insist on another definition, as far as this PlayStation title is concerned the iQ moniker stands for Intelligent Qube. iQ is one of those occasional titles that defies rational analysis. An elementary puzzle game in the Tetris mould, it makes no attempt to shatter the perception that such games must look singularly dull. The player stands on a huge rectangular block divided into rows of cubes. In front of him a separate group of cubes tumble forward menacingly, a row at a time, and must be destroyed (by selecting an area on the block's surface and detonating a cube as it passes over it) before they reach the edge of the block.
Intelligent Qube is simple, fun, and horribly addictive, just the way a good puzzle game should be. While the graphics are nothing to write home about (being basic is one thing, but having pop-up and reflection glitches on top of that is pretty sad), and the soundtrack is made up of three repeating, though impressive, tracks, puzzle games are 99 percent gameplay, and IQ mainlines that pretty nicely. Gamers who've waited for a good original puzzle game should check it out.
I keep comparing the game to Tetris because that seems to be what everyone else is comparing Intelligent Qube to. In terms of innovation, Tetris wins. In terms of fun, Tetris wins. In terms of a two player mode, many of the variants of Tetris win. The bottom line is that you can pick up a cheap copy of Tetris for the Super Nintendo, Gameboy, or even for your key chain for a whole lot cheaper than the full price CD that is Intelligent Qube.
