If you haven't figured it out yet, Madden NFL 2001 is definitely worth picking up. It's a great game no matter how you slice it. It may not be significantly changed from last year's, but if you're not going to run right out and buy a PS2 on October 26, this is the next best thing.

Besides the disappointing sound effects and "crap Rap" soundtrack, this is arguably the best PSX Madden to date. There are a plethora of options, menu selections and gameplay modes that are sure to satisfy even the most hardened armchair quarterback. Add to that the excellent gameplay that Madden football is known for, the incredible graphics and you have yourself one hell of a sweet football title here.that is until Madden 2001 arrives for the PS2.

Okay, es ist hierzulande ein Nischenprodukt. Doch es lohnt sich wirklich, sich mit dieser Sportart vertraut zu machen. Denn kaum eine andere Disziplin wurde bislang so akkurat auf den heimischen Bildschirm umgesetzt wie American Football. Zwar kann die PS-Version nicht mit der unglaublichen Optik der PS2-Variante mithalten, doch wer noch vor dem PS2-Kauf zurückschreckt und diesem Sport dennoch etwas abgewinnen kann, sollte hier unbedingt zuschlagen.
