There are several new features in Underground. You'll have the chance to work with a CPU controlled buddy, basically a digital comrade that you keep safe and help out. Not new to the genre, but it still works well. Moving vehicles have been added, which means you can fight enemies like giant tanks. Then there's the disguise element. You'll nab a camera, after which you can go prancing about pretending to be a journalist. If you stop to take a photo of German soldier, he'll even pose for you. Pull out a gun, though, and he''ll shoot you dead. Nice!

I can’t believe how far this game has come since its preview last month. It was great then, and incredible now. Once again, EA has done wonders with the ambient sound and event triggered music to lend a strong cinematic quality without sacrificing gameplay. The manual aim is one of the smoothest I’ve seen on the PlayStation, making head shots a breeze. The guns are incredibly cool. Just about every weapon in the game has some advantage over the others. For instance, pistols are great for head shots, while machine guns are less accurate, but much more effective at mowing down multiple enemies at close range. You will rarely find yourself putting a gun away and then not using it for the rest of a mission. I did find myself occasionally getting snagged on something invisible in the environments, but for the most part, gameplay is very smooth. Get this game.

In regard to the score, Medal of Honor Underground is actually a better game than its predecessor, but in light of the evolution of first-person shooters and the first title's strong technical features and originality, this lower score reflects the game more accurately in November 2000.

All in all, though, Medal of Honor: Underground is a worthy sequel – a game that compels you to finish it. This series is slowly but surely redefining the first-person shooter, and it’s hard to believe it’s exclusively on PlayStation. Check it out to see why, as I lamely stated in the review I did for its predecessor, history lessons can be fun after all.

In the end Medal of Honor: Underground is a finely tuned videogame that holds up to its older brethren Medal of Honor. Underground excels over the first in more ways than one, the visuals have been improved over the first, the body detail is more solid and well built over last years game, the special effects have also been brightened up and the game's interactive environments are better than ever. The gameplay is even more stealth and action than it was before, you will have a large arsenal of weapons and over 20 missions to go through. And on top of that the soundtrack is some of the best in an action game to date. Make sure you give Medal of Honor: Underground a look, it is definitely one of the best FPS titles that have been released on the PSOne.

If you want a quality FPS on the PSX, the Medal of Honor games are pretty much your onlny choice. Quake 2 is only decent and gets old quick. medal of Honor 2 should be a $20 game now, and Medal of Honor 1 should be even cheaper, I recoomend both.

The vast majority of gamers are under 30 years old, and so they never had to bear the full brunt of such a massive conflict as World War II. Like Medal of Honor before it, Underground provides these younger generations with a look back at a period of history that, although immeasurably bloody, also deserves attention. Though nobody will realistically write a thesis on German attrition after playing the game, it does stir up interest in World War II and the issues that it involved. At the same time, it's one of the better first-person shooters available on a console, and as such, fans of that genre and history buffs alike owe it to themselves to give it a shot.

The visuals of MOH2 are really no different from the first game, but this isn't a bad thing in the least. Many of your missions will happen at night, which not only keeps the frame rate up (because of the limited visibility) but also adds tension as you creep around each corner. The enemy soldiers boast some excellent animation, especially when crawling along the ground wounded, waiting to be finished off (sadistic people will have a ball with this game). Sound effects are also an important facet to the game, and add to the tension ten-fold. The atmospheric sounds are blended so well with the in-game sound effects that sometimes you could swear there was a troop of marching Germans just around the corner, causing you skulk even more carefully when poking your head into places where it could very likely be shot off.

Medal of Honor: Underground är inte ett toppspel som kräver sin plats i spelhyllan, men det är ändå ett spel jag vill att ni tittar närmare på om ni gillar genren. Jag har haft många underhållande timmar med spelet och det lär ni säkert också få.
