The possibility of re-exploration with Dan Hand and large levels lead to good replay value while you try to find everything in the game. Additionally, the puzzles on each level are difficult and unclear at times, but if you have the patience then you'll get a lot of playtime. The weak saving system takes away from the game for me, but it ups the challenge factor on the game as well. Good solid and easy controls, nice look and a humorous style earn Medievil 2 high marks.
Medievil II is now upon us with a clearer path of frightful fun. The game's greater diversity, larger levels, and better sense of control over different modes make this sequel a far more compelling experience and overall a much better game.
For most, though, MediEvil II is an excellent game. It mixes great gameplay with humor and shakes (not stirs) it up with smooth control and splendid graphics. The result is a great looking, fun playing game that has kept me up way too late for way too many nights. I recommend it to anyone who has a sense of humor and several hours a day to spare.
There are so many great things about MediEvil 2 that the relatively minor technical difficulties can be overlooked. Without a doubt, this series has some of the best writing, voice acting, and innovative plot and play elements this side of Oddworld. Level and puzzle design is just right, and the game creates an entire world of its own that blurs with real history. This is the kind of game that is played and loved by kids for the cool visuals and wacky story, but also appeals to adults because of its intelligence and artfulness. Once again, Sir Dan saves the action/adventure genre from mundane repetition.

The setting may have changed, but players of the first MediEvil will feel right at home. The controls and camera system are identical, and many of the weapons from the first game make a return appearance.
In the end, MediEvil II feels as though it contains all the features that Sony Cambridge wanted to fit into the original game but didn't have time to include. They're wonderfully original and fun, but unfortunately the perspective problems make certain points far more difficult than they should be and keep this very good game from being great. Fans of the first game shouldn't be disappointed, but they should at least go into it forewarned.
Close, but no cigar. I hate to see a game come close to greatness, only to fail in an area that probably could have been fixed had the game's release been delayed by a month or two. Still, if you've dealt with the control issues in the first game and have no problem playing for long stretches without the ability to save, MediEvil II is a good game to keep you going until the Playstation 2 comes out. If you have any doubts about your hand-eye coordination, you'd do best finding something else to play.
In conclusion, if you enjoyed the experience of the first MediEvil, then this one's a sure bet. It keeps the familiar gameplay but improves upon most of the areas you can think of, specifically combat and puzzles. However, there still isn't enough innovation or variety to keep the hard-core gamers satisfied. Casual gamers, however, looking for a fun, easy-to-get-into title could do worse than give it a try.
