Gamers enamored with Mega Man are sure to love MM8. Others should try it for a weekend to bring back the memories of when games were just for kids.

The only real problem with Mega Man 8 is the deja vu that sets in almost immediately. Even the robots seem to be clones of enemies from earlier MM titles. However, if you've skipped most of the series or still long for the ability to attach weird weapons to your arm, Mega Man 8 won't disappoint.

So this is what it comes down to: do you really want to play another 2D Mega Man game? If so, then you'll like Mega Man 8. It's got all the elements that make the Mega games so challenging: moving platforms, a moderate level of difficulty, and fast, pattern-based bosses. However, if you've grown up and cast these games aside with your Master System and G.I. Joe collection, you'll probably want to wait for the imminent 3D Mega Man. Mega Man 8 is a good, solid game, it's just been done too many times before.

Unless you’re a diehard fan or a total newcomer who doesn’t know any better, don’t eat Mega Man 8.
