This one is a winner folks. After falling into somewhat of the doldrums there for a while, the Mortal Kombat series can once again hold its head high...get it lopped off...and then hold it up high again. All of the good stuff from the previous MK games is intact, tweaked and finely tuned to perfection in this MK4. The graphics have made the move to polygons and they work wonderfully and the sound effects and music, while not notably changed from previous MK's, is still solid and effective. Even if you already have all the other MK games in your library, this one is the best in its stable and worth a look see.

If you haven't liked any of the previous MK titles, MK4 probably won't win you over. But this is a good translation of a good arcade title, and fans of the arcade version won't be disappointed. However, if you're looking for some smoother graphics, and you own an N64, you may want to pick up that version instead.

On the Final note although MK4 isn't a complete port from arcade. Midway made the right decision to save framerate, involving increased gameplay. The Sounds and Music are the pride and joy, and whipping the crap out of some one with weapons rocks. Putting the moves in the game are a big plus and have fun finding those secret characters. MK4 gets my vote, good game.

It didn't win me over in a big way, but Mortal Kombat 4 is still a respectable fighter. Unfortunately, it failed to reinvigorate the franchise, and most people wrote it off as a 3D rehash. On a final note, the excellent live-action intro makes me yearn for a new Mortal Kombat movie - bring it on!

If you enjoy fighting games, are a MK fanatic, or you are going broke spending all you quarters at the arcade, then this is certainly a title you will want to buy. Which version you get would only be determined by which system you own, but if you have both then I have to recommend the Nintendo version. It is almost a "flawless victory."

Trots justeringarna kan Mortal Kombat inte på allvar mäta sig med tungviktare som Tekken 3.
