Simplistic yes, but nobody’s complaining when it extends the longevity so much. Graphically, MTV isn’t quite up there with Cool Boarders 4, but the total freedom combined with the amazing, almost unlimited range of combos is commendable. If you fancy diverting from the slopes of Cool Boarder mainia, THQ’s fiesty alternative certainly fits the bill. Wicked.
In the end, the free-roaming unrestricted feeling you get when you play MTV Sports: Snowboarding, combined with the great control setup, make it so much fun - and, ultimately, more of a snowboarding game than any other title out there. If you're a fan of snowboarding games and love to catch big air and see just how many times you can spin and flip while executing a bunch of different grabs before the ground comes rushing up, this is the game for you.
Not a huge drop in quality from Pro Boarder but the inane unlocking system is time consuming and takes much of the fun away. If you like downhill racing (since that is what you will be doing for the first few days of playing) then MTV Sports Snowboarding could be for you. Otherwise skip the snow and head to the skate park and pick up Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
Radical Entertainment gelingt
While the game is a vast improvement over the terrible yet somewhat realistic X-Games [ESPN] Pro Boarder game (made by the same developers at Radical Entertainment), and although the control is quite good at capturing the sport, it just doesn't have anything to raise the excitement level of the genre. It's fast and playable, but not anymore fun than any of the half-million other snowboarding games out there. I'm particularly disappointed by this game because the control is so good that I was hoping the rest of the game would follow the feel. It didn't. The game is boring, just like all the rest of these board games. However, it is the best controlling snowboarder of the bunch (although that's not saying much). The speed and feel is all there, so if you're still dying for a boarder game, give this one a try.
MTV Snowboarding är dock trots det ett av de bättre alternativen till PlayStation, så har man inget annat i samma genre är det väl ett ganska hyfsat köp. Men räkna med risken att bli besviken.
