Absolutely unbelievable. This game totally blows away the arcade game. Although I'm not the biggest fan of sports games, NBA Jam: TE on the Playstation is such a blast to play and is so addictive that I just couldn't ignore it. With graphics that eclipses the coin-op game, tons of cool codes, great sound and perfect control, NBA Jam: TE on the Playstation is by far the best version to date. Buy it.
Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
Everywhere you go, NBA Jam: TE is in your face. It does get a bit redundant seeing this game on every platform, but this translation for the Playstation is done superbly well. I can't imagine how this game can get any better unless it comes out on the Ultra 64. In the end, it's good ol' Jam with better graphics.
All Game Guide
When playing with friends the fun factor is doubled. NBA Jam T.E. is good enough that it can keep you glued to your television screen for a couple of hours at a time.
Non seulement ce n'est pas très beau, mais de surcroît, ce n'est pas plus jouable ou plus fun. Franchement, mieux vaut rester avec vos basiques versions 16 bits, au moins vous savez ce que vous avez entre les mains...
The action is fast paced and intense, and by keeping the court limited to four players, the ball moves around quite a bit. Perhaps the title's best aspect is its simplicity in game design -- just grab that ball and sink it! And shooting hoops has never been so much fun. The outlandish ways to dunk -- flips, smoke, etc. -- only add to the wackiness. Excellent.
Give this CD a rent before purchasing it. The new options are welcome, but the few missing effects and flaky A.I. will make you think twice before you make your Playstation a JamStation.
The Video Game Critic
The 2D graphics have been altered dramatically. The camera is zoomed in so tight that you can actually see the digitized faces of the players. Unfortunately you also see much less of the court, making it hard to tell what's going on around you. All the options from previous NBA Jams are back, including the "icons" and "juice mode". NBA Jam T.E. retains a slick arcade presentation, but in terms of fun, the franchise clearly ran out of juice with this disappointing edition.
