Power Move Pro Wrestling

The only things missing from this game are power meters to show each wrestler' strength, a license from the WWF or WCW and some type of tag team or battle royal matches. Even with these omissions, Power Move Pro Wrestling still has enough gameplay stamina to win the championship.

Power Moves Pro Wrestling is an average wrestling title. There is really nothing that makes it stand out from the pack. There is some fun to be had but you will find yourself frustrated when you can't get up and fight. The special moves are easy to execute and fun to watch. The graphics are nice but nothing we haven't seen before on the Playstation. I suggest you take it for a test drive before you drive this one home.

On the bright side, Powermove offers a realistic sense of hulking men who live to piledrive and suplex each other into next Tuesday. The 3-D polygon heroes don't come close to boasting Virtua Fighter's realistic detail, but are fluid and convincing nonetheless. Though the control is responsive, certain buttons seem to do little or nothing (a no-no in fighting games), and the sound definitely could have been more inventive. Ultimately, Powermove is a good unlicensed pro wrestling game that seems slightly incomplete.

But in the end, Power Move Pro Wrestling was too much like real pro wrestling and it failed to hold my interest for very long at all. The wrestlers can take so much 'punishment' for so long that it really just gets boring. This game is simply not inspiring enough to make you want to attempt the daunting task of memorizing all the moves. Power Move struts around the ring well at first, but can't remain standing through the whole match.
