A very slick game with loads of FMV and some nice sound effects. The in-game visuals are also very impressive. The game should appeal to fans of the DooM genre and those who like 3D platformers. Expect to throw down your Joypad in frustration a few times during the course of the game, although I feel sure that you will keep coming back to it time and again.
Utvecklarna bakom Reboot har gjort ett mycket bra jobb. Känslan är suverän och Electronic Arts borde definitivt pröva att använda den här motorn till ett snowboardspel. Det här är en oväntad uppstickare som alla borde ta en titt på.
All in all, I found ReBoot to be an average game. It got to be a bit boring just rushing from tear to tear. I would have liked to see the enemies play a bigger role in the game instead of just being there to keep you on the move. The clock for the tear kept you moving enough. It would have been much cooler to have to kill all of the enemies while working your way to mend the tears. I think fans of the TV show will enjoy this game much more than non-fans.
Given that the original television series was almost a videogame to begin with, the transition from TV to game is natural and true to the series. Any fan of the series, or someone looking for a new 3-D world to explore, will be satisfied with Reboot. But if you're looking to this title for anything more, then you may be disappointed.
In the short term at least, Reboot is great fun. You really feel in control of Bob, and the slick presentation adds to the experience. It’s just far too easy and the most varied game in the world holds little after you finish it several times in a week! This is a pity, as Reboot was so nearly a golden egg, but ended up tasting of turkey.
ReBoot might be interesting to fans of the TV series, but as a stand-alone game left to its own merits, it just doesn't fly. The sketchy graphics don't tell you all you need to know, and from a design standpoint the levels are uninspired - though fans of the show will like the cute animated cutscenes featuring other ReBoot characters.
Bref, si Reboot se révèle assez réussi techniquement parlant (c'est fluide et il n'y a pas trop bugs), il pèche toutefois beaucoup par son manque d'intérêt et sa jouabilité par trop délicate.
