Overall, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is amazing. It's still as short as RE or RE2, but with enhanced replay benefits and higher difficulty it doesn't leave you feeling cheated. The Resident Evil series is classic horror gaming, and there is still nothing that comes close it in quality. If you've never played a Resident Evil game before, then you don't know what true survival horror gaming is.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis writhes with dark themes and horrifying action. It's not for the squeamish, and its Mature rating is there for a reason. Those gamers with nerves of steel and stomachs of iron will learn to love their Nemesis.

And yet, in no way does RE3 falter or slip below the quality level of the previous two games. If anything it upholds the series' depth and challenge, even though it's still essentially more Resident Evil. The story still wonderfully unfolds in an intensely slow, intriguing way. And the combination of the great story telling and precise style of gameplay is still perfectly blended. If anything, it's a compliment and a message to Capcom that so many similar games (Evil Dead, Galerians, Fear Effect) are currently in the works. The message? Gamers love Resident Evil. And gamers will love RE3, too.

The game really improves over the original series, including the graphics, Gameplay, sound, everything. The one major thing here is the damn loading times. They said they would cut them drastically but seemed to almost increase them. The first opening scene is awesome, but the other FMV's aren't too great, and there are a lot less of them too. The story is great and adds a lot more depth to the series, and the game makes up for all its mistakes easily. The load times are well worth it. The game doesn't slip below quality nor above too far, but adds great depth. In fact, if you play the 2nd Resident Evil enough, you can fight Nemesis, though in a much more human looking form. The controls should have been improved, a better aiming system for one thing. Your limited to where you can aim at and can sometimes become very annoying at times.

Don't let the number 3 fool you. Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is a sequel only in number and plays more like a side story than anything. But the improvements to the strategy and gameplay make this game a fun outing. There are very few games that can create the fear that the Resident Evil series has done so well, and if you're a fan the series or just plain like being scared, RE3 doesn't miss.

Still, the Resident Evil series has maintained its high quality better than any other video game trilogy. Too many companies churn out cookie-cutter sequels one after the other without changing a thing, like Command and Conquer, or even getting worse, like Twisted Metal. Unlike the repetitive Tomb Raider series, each chapter of Resident Evil has managed to be both innovative and engrossing. Better than that, all three have been scary, and Resident Evil 3 is no exception. Now if only I could just shoot my annoying neighbor and claim he was a zombie.

Resident Evil: Nemesis is een spel dat je niet aan je voorbij mag laten gaan. Dankzij de schitterende graphics en de ijzersterke gameplay krijgt de ultieme horrorgame een waardig vervolg.

I guess I can't argue with the old adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Scream and Scream 2 made tons of money and no one doubts that Scream 3 will do the same. Never mind the fact that nothing is really different about the third movie. I mean, pretty teen stars scream, jiggle a little bit, and then get butchered. Why change that? Heck, the audience loves it so you just gotta give them what they want. Taking a look at Resident Evil 3, you may not find too many new things that weren't tried in Dino Crisis before it, but everything comes together rather nicely. Most of the annoying things prevalent in the first Resident Evil are long gone and the new additions make me look forward to new versions of the series no matter what system they appear on. I would have to say this is the most complete Resident Evil ever released and a fitting finale to the series.

Digital Press - Classic Video Games
Games like this become immediate classics upon their release. It's rare for a game to be as good as the original the third time around. It's even rarer for it to be better. Resident Evil 3 does all this and more. Each Resident Evil PS One owning fans will be pleased to know that Capcom hasn't forgotten about them while working on the numerous other incarnations of the game. A must own on every level.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is my favorite game in the Resident Evil series because it had the amount of action that I like with a cooler weapon added to the inventory. You have an unlimited amount of saves, so feel free to play the game and save as many times as you like. This game can be found at most video game stores for between 10 and 20 dollars, and it’s worth a purchase.

While it may seem as if Resident Evil fans are getting shortchanged on this one, it really isn't the case. Judged on its own merits, Resident Evil 3 is a truly outstanding game. Unlike other series (Street Fighter, Tomb Raider) that offer incremental "improvements," the RE lineup continues to refine an already excellent premise. This is a series with legs, and each new chapter does nothing to diminish it.

Capcom's third RE game is not the best of the bunch, but it does pack a wallop when it needs to. This game won five awards in 2000 including Game Design and Game of the Year.

Resident Evil 3 feels awfully familiar, but those who can't get enough of the series will appreciate this well-designed third chapter.

Gamer's Pulse
Despite the unorthodox multi-platform time line, despite the overly powerful weapons characters use in the game, and despite the lack of a true storyline, RE3 is worth a look for those hard core Resident Evil fans out there. For those newbies who want to see what RE3 is like, I strongly suggest you leave the lights on, or you may find yourself with the RE Disease -- symptoms include cold shivers, neck hair standing on end, sweaty palms and, of course, wet pants.

Gaming Target
Resident Evil 3 is definitely a high quality entry in the Resident Evil series. It just feels too much like a bonus disc to Resident Evil 2 than an entirely new game. Is it a good game and worth your playtime? Absolutely. Is it the best Resident Evil has to offer? No. Are you a fan of the Resident Evil series? Then you owe it to yourself to give this game a go. Your mileage may vary.

When all is said and done, I didn't find Nemesis to be deplorable, but simply being overly unoriginal too soon after Dino Crisis. This is still a Capcom production, which ensures high production values and solid gameplay, so I can easily recommend it to those new to the genre or fans of Resident Evil 2 who passed up Dino Crisis. But I personally couldn't get excited about anything that Nemesis offered because I had either experienced if before in Dino Crisis or have seen it in its previous incarnations. Capcom should either rethink the format or give more time between releases. But then again, from the company that has given us X-amount of Street Fighters and Y-amount of Mega Mans, I shouldn't hold my breath.
